Resolve to Bag a Big Elk or Mule Deer in 2019
If you’ve ever wanted to harvest a massive bull elk, big cow elk, prime Mule deer or an elusive Merriam turkey, 2019 is your year! The Timbers at Chama is pleased to begin accepting reservations for its 2019 elk archery hunts, elk rifle hunts, cow elk hunts, mule deer hunts and Merriam turkey hunts.
While the dates are not yet firmed up, we can assure you that 2019 will be another banner year for hunting in Northern New Mexico. And because every hunt package is custom designed to meet your interests and needs, the sooner you contact the Timbers, the better that chance that we will have both the dates and accommodations that you desire.
There really aren’t many hunting lodges that can compare with the Timbers. Originally built to be a private getaway, the Timbers has been transformed by the Glisson family into one of the most comfortable and accommodating lodges in the Rocky Mountains. Add to that the outstanding hunting found in New Mexico’s famed Unit 4 – all on private hunting land – and you are guaranteed to have a hunting vacation you’ll remember all your life.
What makes hunting New Mexico’s Unit 4 so special? Well first of all, the Chama River Valley is remote and pristine, surrounded by many square miles of wilderness and near-wilderness habitat. The game animals roam free. And, unlike most of New Mexico, there is abundant water in the form of snow cover and alpine lakes and streams. All of this water makes for outstanding forage for both mature elk and their offspring. The result is one of the healthiest elk and mule deer herds anywhere in the Rockies.
And the Chama River Valley offers a unique blend of cultures, too. At the Timbers we’ll cater to your tastes in food and offer up some great local specialties, too. A day in the field is both invigorating and tiring. We’ll make sure that your after-hunt time is just as enjoyable as your hunt time!
